In my series on call, I will have at least three installments on Isaiah. Here is the start. God’s call to the writing prophets provides more information than some of the ones we have been reading. Isaiah 6 serves as a favorite text for many.

Sioux Falls Seminary will be closed on Friday, April 12 due to weather and outdoor maintenance needs. Note: for Thursday, April 11, Gary Strickland's Pastoral Care class will NOT meet. John Madvig's Supervised Ministry will meet unless otherwise notified.


Venue Change for Hiller Lectureship

Due to the great response to hear the Rev. Dr. Will Willimon speak, Sioux Falls Seminary's Hiller Lectureship is being moved to Oak Hills Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, which is located at 6201 S. Lyncrest, just west of Minnesota Avenue on 69th Street. Parking available on the southeast side.


Alumnus Dr. Roger E. Olson Receives Foy Professorship

In January 2013, Sioux Falls Seminary alumnus, Dr. Roger E. Olson, was awarded the newly established Foy Valentine Endowed Professorship in Christian Ethics at Baylor University.


Hiller Lectureship with Rev. Will Willimon

Sioux Falls Seminary is pleased to bring the Rev. Dr. Will Willimon to campus for the 2013 Hiller Lectureship: Proclaiming the Risen Christ in Today's Culture. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Cost to attend is $30 per person.


Update: 89 Boxes Prepared for Soldiers

Sioux Falls Seminary and the Luther House of Study hope to provide care packages for a unit in Afghanistan that is led by the son of Sioux Falls Seminary student Alan Blankenfeld. Donations of goods and cash are being collected for the project.


Gathering in Honor of Adjunct Richard Twiss

Sioux Falls Seminary will live stream the memorial service of Adjunct faculty member Richard Twiss on Sunday, March 10, in the chapel at 6:30 p.m. A potluck and time for fellowship will begin at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to anyone who is interested, but an RSVP is requested.


Hagan to Conclude Service at End of 2013

It is with great sadness that the Board of Trustees announces that Dr. Mike Hagan plans to conclude his service to Sioux Falls Seminary as President and Professor of Hebrew Bible on December 31, 2013. Looking forward, Hagan will continue to pursue teaching and writing.
