featuring Dr. Jane Marie Thibault

Tuesday, April 25, 2006
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $15 per person, registration details below.

This year's Hiller Lectureship focuses on assisting pastors; lay ministry leaders; chaplains; and hospice, assisted living, and specialty care workers gain a new perspective on the topic of aging. It will also help enhance their interactions with the elderly.

Applying her research in the area of vocation and spiritual growth in later life, Dr. Jane Thibault will share ways in which individuals can live life to the fullest through an intimate relationship with God and address behaviors that can either contribute to or deter from this process. She will examine the negative attitudes on aging that prevail in our society and how they impact personal feelings and can be projected onto elders. Thibault will also share stories of older persons who have gotten more out of life and present ways in which a personal relationship with God can be built.

The 2006 Hiller Lectureship will also present opportunities for networking. Displays from local agencies specializing in care to the elderly will be available to offer information and answer questions. In addition, the complimentary community meal will be a great chance to visit with peers as well as seminary employees and students.
