Property Care Assistant-Summit Heights, VOA Sioux Falls


PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF POSITION: Serve as an on-site resource to residents regarding maintenance and security-related needs during non-office hours. Maintain the property in a clean and orderly fashion.

REPORTS TO: Housing Manager PRIMARY DUTIES: Monitor and enforce community rules and regulations and residents rights and responsibilities. Coordinate Community Room reservations during non-office hours. Respond to after- hours resident emergency calls. Coordinate after-hours emergency maintenance with maintenance staff and/or service vendors. Inspect interior and exterior of property daily to identify maintenance and/or security needs. Perform basic repair and maintenance as needed. Provide housekeeping/janitorial of common areas. Prepare vacant units for occupancy by providing housekeeping and basic repairs. Attend property staff meetings. Provide regular communication to Property Manager regarding housekeeping, maintenance and security issues. Assist Property Manager with tenant paperwork. Perform other duties as requested.

HOURS: Position requires flexibility in scheduling with evening, weekend and day hours. This position requires a live-in, on-site residence.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Completion of high school degree or GED. Must possess basic maintenance and janitorial skills. Must be computer literate. Good communication and interpersonal skills is essential. Must have the ability to work independently and have good problem-solving skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and tolerate standing and walking for extended periods of time.
