Discipleship Pastor, Mitchell, Sd

Description

Fusion Church is not your “run of the mill” church. Fusion holds a contemporary worship service led by a volunteer worship and preaching team on Sundays at the Dakota Wesleyan University Sherman Center. Fusion is uniquely poised right at the intersection between the college campus and community of Mitchell (as well as surrounding smaller communities). It works in partnership with Dakota Wesleyan, its campus ministry team, faculty/staff, and community leaders in its mission to fill a gap in the community by providing an accessible and relevant worship experience and equipping people to be “sent disciples" whether they live and work in the community or are sent globally.

Fusion prides itself on being an egalitarian church, believing that people of all ages, demographics, faith backgrounds, and vocations are not only welcome at Fusion, but are also called to cultivate and use their gifts to grow the kingdom of God. It desires to be a community that pours into the community of Mitchell (and surrounding communities) and values missional giving and engagement. In it’s next phase of ministry Fusion desires to deepen discipleship of all believers, helping people to experience life transformation and equipping them to be a sent people wherever they are. Mitchell itself sits one-hour west of Sioux Falls, SD on Interstate 90. Mitchell has a small town feel and an emphasis on agriculture. Traditions and relationships run deep. The community is currently beginning to strategize how to leverage the strengths of the area for meeting the demands of a rapidly changing world.

Fusion seeks a 3/4 time ministry staff-person, salaried w/o parsonage/benefits, 54-60K depending upon experience level. Like the church, this role is not your average pastoral role. Key gifts/attributes for this role include strong relational skills, the desire to collaborate, and the ability to help other people’s gifts outshine their own. This person must have a passion for shepherding and cultivating strategic discipleship in every area of the church. It will be important to have a flexible spirit, willing to brainstorm and try new ways to minister alongside all generations through shared-leadership models and multiple preachers as a part of the worship experience. This is a unique opportunity to work with a team in a ministry that is always changing as we follow right where Jesus leads!
