Director of Youth and Family Ministries Pagosa Bible Church is located in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. The area is known for its amazing hot springs, skiing, hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. Pagosa Springs is a growing, family-friendly community that is a great place to raise a family. The town of Pagosa Springs sits at 7, 126 feet above sea in the Colorado sun belt with over 300 days of sunshine a year. Pagosa Bible Church began in 1999 with the mission to help people “Know Christ and Make Him Known.” We are a bible-based, non-denominational congregation. The people who attend Pagosa Bible Church come from a variety of church backgrounds. As a church family we are committed to helping people grow in their love for God as they love others, root themselves in God’s Word and reach out to their community and world.

PURPOSE
The Director of Youth and Family Ministries is called to make disciples of youth and their families at Pagosa Bible Church, aiding in their Biblical knowledge, spiritual development, and participation in the mission of the Church. The Director of Youth and Family Ministries bears primary responsibility for ministry to and with youth, from 6th to 12th grade, and directing the development of family ministry at PBC. The Director of Youth and Family Ministries plans and implements relevant programs and recruits and trains volunteers to assist in ministry to youth, families and church outreach. This person will model, teach and coach Pagosa Bible Church families in proclaiming the gospel and building the younger generation of disciples and leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Maintain an intimate and growing walk with the Lord • Demonstrates a passion for God’s Word, the Gospel and the Church • Demonstrates a strong ability to relate to children, students, parents and the congregation • Demonstrates a vision and passion for students (6th-12th grade), their parents and the greater Pagosa Springs community • Able to lead and develop leaders/volunteers • Enjoys collaborative ministry and working in a team setting • Is flexible with an ability to handle multiple areas of responsibility simultaneously • Can bring fresh thinking to our strategies with children, students and parents • Desire to build, nurture and maintain meaningful inter-generational relationships • Strong ability to lead, communicate, plan, organize and delegate effectively A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Seminary degree is preferable but not mandatory. Two plus years’ experience in youth and family ministries is preferred. Appropriate evidence of Biblical literacy, theological maturity and evangelical conviction is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of youth ministry (6th-12th grade) • Oversee the Community Outreach at PBC working with event and program leaders and being staff resource • Recruit, screen and equip volunteers • Work in partnership with Children’s Ministry Director to develop disciples from cradle to college. • Build relationships with and invest in youth while also providing opportunities for students to serve within church and community • Develop PBC’s presence in the community by building relationships with local schools and home school groups • Model a missional lifestyle through community involvement and development of relationships with people who do not know Christ. • Equip families to disciple their children and engage in ministry with their neighbors. • Lead meetings with and communicate clearly volunteers and parents to increase partnership and ministry effectiveness • Assist with follow up and assimilation of guests with a special focus on youth and their families. • Be the champion for the youth and family ministry at PBC • Develop an annual budget and monitor and control expenses in compliance with the budget • Seek out growth opportunities to enhance ministry abilities, spiritual growth and development • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and offer reports to Elders/Lead Pastor as requested • Assist with the ministry needs of the entire congregation (assist with worship service, pastoral care, leadership, etc.) • Other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS
• Will assist in fulfilling God’s mission and vision for the ministry of PBC (at times this may fall outside your job description – special events, funerals, weddings, etc.) • Will model a positive and supportive team-player attitude toward the total ministry of the church and work cooperatively with Lead Pastor, all staff members and the elder team • Will protect confidential information • Will address conflict in a biblical way that seeks to glorify God • Will report directly to the Pastor and work in close cooperation with Children’s Ministry Director. • Possess proficient computer skills

COMPENSATION
• Full-time requiring flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Sunday attendance is required. • Salaried, exempt position • Paid vacation and benefits with compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
