SFS Helps Rebuild for AIM Pheasant Hunt

August 7, 2007

The Sioux Falls Seminary Leadership Foundation eagerly looks forward to the 5th Annual "Actively Impacting Ministries" (AIM) Pheasant Hunt on September 12, 13, and 14, 2007. While this year's hunt will once again be hosted at K&M Hunting Lodge near Plankinton, South Dakota, the aesthetics of the landscaping will be different from previous years.

In the late afternoon of May 5, 2007, a tornado destroyed K&M Hunting lodge, all the shops, the hunters' quarters, kennels, 7,000 pheasants, and the home of owners Mike and Kathye Miller. The Millers praise God that no one was injured during this tragedy.

Now, with the help of family and friends, the Millers are actively engaged in a huge recovery effort. Construction of new facilities began the week of July 9. The Leadership Foundation's Ben Engbrecht donated a day of his hammer-swinging, board-cutting talents on July 10 to assist the Millers in their rebuilding endeavors. The Leadership Foundation, in partnership with four-year-pheasant-hunt veteran, Keith Neuharth, was also pleased to provide the construction crew with a meal and beverages that day.

The new K & M Hunting Lodge will feature a single story facility with four individual six-bunk pods, positioned one at each corner. The great room/lodge located in the center will include all the previous amenities: television, hot tub, foosball, pool, and game tables. And as is customary, hunters will be treated to the same warm hospitality and fabulous food in the Miller's spacious new dining room. With a targeted completion date of mid-late August, SFS pheasant hunters will be the "inaugural" group in the new K&M Hunting facilities.

The $595 fee per hunter includes two nights' lodging, meals, a guaranteed six cleaned and bagged birds, all amenities, and fellowship and pheasant hunting you'll remember for years to come. Not included is the cost of a hunting license which must be purchased prior to the hunt. Hunting licenses can be acquired online at www.sdgfp.info or from a storefront agent.

Since space is limited and "bunks" are going quickly, hunting enthusiasts are encouraged to make their reservations soon.
