Seminary’s 150th Commencement Saturday

The 150th Commencement Service and Reception for Sioux Falls Seminary will take place Saturday, May 24, 2008, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The service and reception will be held at Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls (3100 W. Ralph Rogers Road).

The seminary will confer a total of 35 degrees, three of which are Doctor of Ministry. Other degrees being conferred include the Master of Divinity (22), Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (5), Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (2), Master of Arts in Religious Studies (1), Master of Arts in Bible and Theology (1), and the Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies (1).

In addition to a full academic procession by the seminary's faculty and administration, the service will feature keynote speaker Dr. Rob C. McCleland, Executive Director of the North American Baptist Conference. McCleland will address graduates and guests in regard to "One More Assignment for a Better Life."

Saturday's events also mark the beginning of a Year of Celebration in honor of Sioux Falls Seminary's 150th anniversary. The Year of Celebration, titled Celebrating God's Faithfulness, will continue throughout the 2008-2009 academic year and conclude with a capstone event and all-school reunion on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
