Seminary Community Travels to Parkersburg, IA, to Help SFS Alumnus and Town (includes article, video

A group of Sioux Falls Seminary students, recent graduates, and employees traveled to Parkersburg, IA, on Sunday, June 1, 2008, to spend a few days assisting local residents after an Enhanced F5 tornado devastated much of the small town. While in Parkersburg, members of the seminary community are offering help with clean up, praying with storm victims, providing words of encouragement, and delivering monetary donations and goods.
News of the Sunday, May 25, tornado hit close to home�2008 graduate Ryan Zurbriggen and his family moved to Parkersburg to lead Calvary Baptist Church after he finished his studies in December 2007. After coming to Sioux Falls to participate in commencement exercises, Ryan, Renessa (his wife), and their three children were headed back to Parkersburg when the tornado struck. The church received minor damage; however, the roof was ripped off the Zurbriggen's home.
