Seminary Community Devoting Time to Helping Residents in Downtown Sioux Falls

October 1, 2007

Members of the Sioux Falls Seminary student body, faculty, and staff will devote the day of October 11 to installing plastic insulation to windows on homes in the Sioux Falls neighborhood designated as Mayor Munson's City Revitalization area.

The October 11 community service day is part of a larger "Immersion Experience" course being offered at Sioux Falls Seminary on October 8-12. Immersion Experience participants will perform various service projects throughout the week in the blocks between 11-15th Streets and Minnesota-Prairie Avenues. Additional members of the seminary community will join with them on Thursday, October 11, to install the plastic insulation and hold a BBQ for residents in the evening.

The seminary community plans to help as many low-income families as they can prepare their homes for the upcoming winter months. Financial contributions, donations of window kits, or additional volunteers are welcomed. For more information, contact the seminary at 605.336.6588.
