As the 157th academic year at Sioux Falls Seminary begins, we reflect on Ephesians 4:1: “…walk in a manner worthy of the calling that you have been called…” This verse speaks of what seminaries are really all about. One of the primary purposes of a seminary is to develop students to better “walk in a manner worthy of their callings.”

Our Calling Toward Christian Maturity

As Sioux Falls Seminary develops individuals for their unique calling in ministry, we begin by discussing the primary call for all of Christ’s followers. Ephesians 4:1 reads, “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.”

Seminary to Re-imagine Ministry to Pettigrew Heights

In an effort to expand opportunities for service to the community, Sioux Falls Seminary is selling the property it owns at 12th Street and Summit Avenue. Resources tied up in the building will be reinvested to further the life-changing work that is taking place through students.

SFS to Host Baptist History & Heritage Society Conference

Sioux Falls Seminary is happy to host the Baptist History and Heritage Society as they hold their annual conference with the Association of Librarians and Archivists at Baptist Institutions on June 4-6, 2014. The focus of the conference will be on "Exploring 'Other' Baptists".

2014 Graduates Are Ready to Serve God and Others

Sioux Falls Seminary will graduate its 156th class at 2:00 p.m. next Saturday, May 25, at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. We look forward to celebrating this year's graduates who are all ready to serve God and his mission in a variety of different contexts.
