Summit House at Sioux Falls Seminary is taking learning and serving to a whole new level.  Students have the opportunity to live together in the Pettigrew Heights neighborhood of Sioux Falls and make a difference in the lives of area residents. About Pettigrew Heights
Like many older areas in cities throughout the country, Pettigrew Heights and fourteen other neighborhoods in Sioux Falls are experiencing urban flight.  The heart of the city is becoming hollow.  The ethnic population among those who have stayed is high. Education, finances, businesses, and leadership have been drained.  Crime, poverty, and homelessness are major concerns.  Broken relationships are leaving a devastating impact on these communities.

How Summit House Makes an Impact
Through Summit House, a group of seminary students are receiving the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while they gain first-hand experience in community development. As they live in the neighborhood together and engage local residents, an important step in reversing deterioration is taking place.  Upon graduation, servant leaders from Summit House are equipped and inspired to serve in other communities—helping to create change throughout the region and world.
