Contextual Learning
We find ourselves in a wonderful position--equipping leaders called to serve the church and its greater community. Whether called to the pulpit, the practice of Christian counseling, the mission field, or other para-church ministries, those called to a life of service in ministry will be prepared during their studies at Sioux Falls Seminary. There is a great need for servant leaders throughout the world. Seeing the struggles of the church--whether in a rural setting or in a metropolitan area--we at Sioux Falls Seminary are striving to meet the needs of those seeking a theological education. Whether serving a church or counseling center, here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, or on the other side of the globe, every student will receive a solid and quality theological education along with hands-on experience. Students in our residential programs are placed in supervised ministry positions where they work directly with a ministry or therapy professional to bring to life the lessons being taught in the classroom. Students enrolled using our Distance Learning Options are able to maximize the benefits of contextual learning by allowing their current place to become their primary classroom. There, working alongside a trained mentor/supervisor, students learn as they serve and complete the remainder of their program requirements through short-term, intensive courses on our campus.
